Here are our eco dentistry promises

  
   Eleven key points that we follow:

1. We use recycled paper wherever possible, in the office and in the loo.

2. We use technology wisely; don’t send reminder letters until you’ve tried to phone, text or email, to reduce use of paper.

3. We educate the team to switch off unnecessary lights and appliances when not using them. Our lights are now on sensor to reduce unnecessary wastage.

4. We turn the thermostat down- all 4 surgeries and decontamination corridor are on programmable timers. Times are temperatures are reviewed every 3 months.

5. We use energy efficient bulbs

6. We recycle everything were possible. We have a big bin in the car park as a visual to let patient know that we recycle.

7. We use local businesses rather than national chains.

8. We fit the latest amalgam separating equipment to the surgery suction units, to reduce outward contamination.

9. We provide cycle racks and bus timetables.  Encourage people to use public transport to get there (and be patient when they are late!). We put bus routes & numbers on our recall letters and new patient packs.

10. We throw out the plastic bags! Use hemp bags and give away kids goody bags in reusable paper bags.

11. We tell our patients what you are doing, and why and ask them for other suggestions
